If I live in Boston and work in New Hampshire, do I need to pay MA state income tax? Is it refunded end of yr?
My job is located in New Hampshire, but I'd rather live in Boston because my family/friends live there. Am I responsible for paying MA state income tax? If so, will I receive an income tax refund for all the money? Appreciate your help on this.

yes, you need to pay mass tax. do your taxes and find out. why is this in travel and not taxes?

Yep, MA will tax your income from New Hampshire if you live in MA. If you paid some tax in NH, MA would give you credit for paying NH - but considering that NH doesn't have income tax, you will get to pay it all to MA. Your employer will withhold the MA tax from your paycheck. You will pay MA tax just as though you were working in MA. If your goal is to avoid state income tax, I'd move to NH and use the savings to drive to Boston when you want to see your friends.

I believe so, but unfortunately you wont receive a refund for that State. You can call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 they should be able to help. For the future you can try http://www.filelate.com, this is an online tax Service i've used and they are helpful at answering my question, Good Luck

Boston has so many hospitals. . . .I know a lot of people love their work at Beth Isrea. I used to work at a financial firm for another hospital, and all their employees used to leave to go to Beth Isreal and wanted to work there.

Boston is very well known for their hospitals. Some of the major hospitals are Mass General, Brigham and Woman's, Beth Israel and Children's Hospital. There is also Mass Eye and Ear is you are looking for some sort of specialized hospital. As far as how these hospitals treat employees, I really am not sure.

Partners Healthcare owns several hospitals in the Boston area including MGH and Brigham & Womens in the city, and a few more in the suburbs. My mom works for a Partners hospital and has no complaints, many of her co-workers have been with the hospital for a long time. Plus if you wanted to work at a different hospital, you have quite a few options that are still in the same company.

I'm planning an escape plan, will it work?--Boston?
I'm not gonna get into much detail but here's how it goes: My mom's crazy and she's always on my ass about going to the movies on summer. I've seen everything that's come out, and she doesn't know shit. Now, I got this screening coming up tomorrow for Bruno at the AMC Boston Common Cinema at 7 o clock, but I gotta arrive around 6 30. Thing is unlike my next-door movie theatre to take this one I gotta take a bus into Harvard Square which would take bout 10 to 20 minutes, then take the subway into Boston which would be around 20 or 30 minutes, and watch it, then go back. My question is, what should I tell my boss I'm doing while I watch the movie? Last weekend she caught me going to see Public Enemies and she made a tango about it...which still didn't make a difference if I saw it or not- wjhatever, she's nuts- so I erased every friend and friend's parents contact in her phone-....now wat?

Make up an excuse about a friend or family problem, e.g, illness or something like that, she can't say your lying if you tell her a relative had died.

How about be honest and say You are going to see a movie. She may shock you and say OK. She is probably "nuts" because you lie and deceive her. If she knows where you are than she may be a little easier on you,

I recently came back from a student visa experience in Boston. It was the best thing I've ever done and I would really like to work there for a longer period of time, I'm looking at 1 to 2 years. Super difficult to get a work visa, Need to be highly educated and skilled and find an employer FIRST to sponsor your work visa. Always very difficult, and with high unemployment in the U.S. now, even more so. see below to read up on work visas and look thru other types to see if you can find any possibilities.

Apply for a job there You will need a work visa, you can get one at the American Consulate in your country

You need to come back here and try to work for hotels. Hotel are the best choice to get a resident visa in U.S.A. I work in a Hotel and they've given two resident visa for two of my coworkers
